Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) has begun on-ground activities in preparation for the next planned phase of drilling at the Herberton Project in northern Queensland.
The next phase of drilling is targeting the Orient Silver-Indium and Antimony Reward projects.
At Orient, drilling will comprise 7,150m of reverse circulation drilling and 650m of diamond core drilling.
Drilling aims to convert the exploration target to an inferred resource, while also testing down dip extensions of high-grade mineralisation and advancing Orient East towards an exploration target.
At the Antimony Reward Project, drilling will comprise 1,000m of reverse circulation drilling aimed to target down dip and strike extensions of high-grade mineralisation, where historical drilling returned up to 17.3% antimony.
Drilling will also test high priority parallel vein structures.
Managing Director Donald Garner says drilling at Orient will provide the company with a better understanding of the underground potential.
“We also plan to return to Orient East, with a drill program designed to infill and extend the high-grade mineralisation previously intersected by Iltani,” Garner says.
“This will lay the foundation for an Orient East exploration target, which we will then seek to upgrade to an initial JORC resource in 2025.
Whilst we have the drill rig turning at Orient, it gives us a great opportunity to drill our exciting high-grade Antimony Reward project, which is located 20km from Orient.”
At Orient, Iltani plans to begin First Nations clearance activity prior to kicking off any earthworks required. The company will also engage with a drilling contractor with a view to start drilling at the end of next month.
Meanwhile, at Antimony Reward, Iltani personnel are mobilising to site for follow-up mapping and sampling with the aim of better defining the extent of the mineralised zones and confirming drilling locations.
With the recent increase in market interest in antimony, Iltani is engaging with the landowner and the First Nations Group to expedite drilling activities at Antimony Reward.
The company will inform the market when a start date for drilling at Antimony Reward has been confirmed.
Iltani Resources is an Australian-based explorer focused on building its portfolio of advanced exploration and development projects.
