Last Ronin makes big break to silver screens

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Last Ronin makes big break to silver screens

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT): Last Ronin is ready to take on the world again with a live-action update.

The franchise that tells the story of four turtles (Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo) fight evil in New York with ninjutsu has been a fan favorite since 1984.

The fictional world also includes the heroes’ master Splinter (the rat) and adversaries such as Baxter Stockman, Krang and the Shredder, who have been capturing audiences around the globe spawning a series of video games and seven animated and live action film series.

But THR now reports that, following TMNT: Mutant Mayhem’s success, especially with a younger audience which went on to gross $180.5 million world-wide, the creators are now ready to take another story to the silver screens.

Last Ronin, a miniseries is tailored for mature audience and takes them in an alternate universe which includes more violence, gore and strong language will reportedly be developed into a live-action series.

A nod to the original dark theme of the comic, the news has taken the audience by surprise as they anticipate Tyler Burton (co-wrote Chucky) pen the screenplay under the production of Walter Hamada who oversaw The Conjuring. This collaboration ensured fans of honoring the horror aspect of the mini-series to meet their expectations.

While the comic book has completed the story in 2022, further details about the movie’s production timeline is kept under wraps.
