Canadian Olympic bronze medalist Alexandria Loutitt of Calgary, Alberta won the silver medal in a World Cup women’s ski jumping event in Planica, Slovenia on Thursday. For Loutitt it was her eighth career World Cup medal and sixth medal this season.

Loutitt posted a score of 242.1 points. Eva Pinkelnig of Austria won the gold medal with 244.9 points. Nika Prevc of Slovenia won the bronze medal with 235.6 points. Loutitt reached the podium by 9.9 points over Sara Takanashi of Japan, who finished in fourth place with a score of 232.2 points. The event in Slovenia had a ski jump of 102 metres.

This was the final World Cup women’s ski jumping event of the season. In the World Cup standings, Loutitt finished in third place with 1030 points. The Crystal Globe winner for the year in women’s ski jumping was Prevc with 1454 points. Pinkelnig was second with 1305 points.

Loutitt won her Olympic bronze medal at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing alongside Matthew Soukup of Calgary, Abigail Strate of Calgary, and Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes of Toronto, Ontario in the mixed team event. This was quite simply one of the most bizarre events in Olympic history, as Germany, Japan, Austria and Norway had ski jumpers disqualified for suit violations. The silver medal in Slovenia will give Loutitt confidence as she prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
