The reveal of the 2024 Doernbecher Freestyle collection again showcased Nike’s prioritization of the Air Max Dn throughout 2024, with Connor Kassing transforming the model in black & gold. While those pairs will remain understandably limited, perhaps a different metallic edition can scratch the same itch.
Official images have just surfaced of an Air Max Dn with “Metallic Silver” accenting, primarily appearing on the TPU trim that encircles the heel tab and bridges the two midsole sections from front to back. On the body of the shoe, this otherwise sports the same DNA as the two arrangements in “Triple Black” from the model’s March introduction. In terms of peripherals, the rear Air Chambers take on a matte finish, a divergence from the reflective, multi-colored fare of those aforementioned looks.
While we celebrated experimental designs like the Air Max Dn “Laser Orange,” more and more it seems like those will remain the outlier, and the bulk of the colorways for “Dynamic Air” will iterate on the sort of simple blocking showcased here — even if it means making only slight changes to ones we’ve seen before.
The Nike Air Max Dn “Black/Metallic Silver” is expected to crop up on the Nike site and at retail shelves in short order. Expect a window of late 2024 into early 2025 with retail set at the typical $170 price point.
