A Hollywood silver fox has just joined the cast of Ransom Canyon, the upcoming Yellowstone-style western show from Netflix.
Based on a book series by romance novelist Jodi Thomas, the show will star Josh Duhamel as a Texas ranch owner.
As he protects his Double K Ranch, a beautiful woman played by Minka Kelly, sweeps back home and into his life from New York.
Now three new actors have been added to the cast – including one heartthrob who has built an illustrious showbiz family.
So who is this newly-minted member of the Ransom Canyon world?
James Brolin, 83, is one of three actors who have joined the cast of the upcoming historical romance, a report in Variety confirmed this week.
So has Lizzy Greene, the 20-year-old actress who shot to fame on the successful ABC drama series A Million Little Things.
The sizzling Irish actor Eoin Macken, best known in America for his role on the NBC series La Brea, has also been cast on the series.
James Brolin is perhaps most famous for his television roles, particularly Marcus Welby, MD in the 1960s and 1970s and Hotel in the 1980s.
Alongside his career, he has also built a formidable Hollywood family – his son is Oscar-nominated hunk Josh Brolin and his wife is showbiz legend Barbra Streisand.
In 2021, he became the narrator of the Netflix fantasy series Sweet Tooth – and he has now added another job at the streamer to his filmography with Ransom Canyon.
Duhamel leads the cast of Ransom Canyon as family patriarch Sterling Kirkland, while Kelly plays Quinn, who previously moved to New York to become a concert pianist but is now home in Texas.
News broke in December that the series had been commissioned by Netflix with a 10-episode first season in the works.
Yellowstone similarly followed the drama that unfolds on a Middle American ranch, headed up by a patriarch played by The Bodyguard dreamboat Kevin Costner.
Other cast members include Cole Hauser in a fan favorite turn as the rough-hewn Rip Wheeler, plus Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly and Wes Bentley.
Created by Sicario writer Taylor Sheridan, the show became a thunderous smash hit across America, spawning two spin-off prequel series.
