A fifth new hero visual has been unveiled for the upcoming third season of One-Punch Man, highlighting the veteran professional hero and martial arts master Bang/Silver Fang. It has not yet been announced when season three will air.
Previous Hero visuals were recently released for Saitama, King, Genos, and Fubuki.
The production staff for the third season of One-Punch Man features some returning staff from season two such as Tomohiro Suzuki (returning) as series screenwriter, Chikashi Kubota (returning), Shinjiro Kuroda (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Season 2 Episode 4 and 5 prop design assistant), Ryosuke Shirakawa (Tsurune, Spy x Family Season 1, A Silent Voice key animator) as character designers, and Makoto Miyazaki (returning) as music composer. J.C.Staff is handling the animation production as it did for the second season.
The first season was directed by Shingo Natsume and produced by Madhouse, airing in 2015. The second season followed in 2019 and was directed by Chikara Sakurai at J.C.STAFF. Crunchyroll streamed both series internationally outside of Japan.
The anime is based on the superhero action manga written by ONE and illustrated by Yuusuke Murata. It was serialized on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump on June 14, 2012 and has released 31 tankobon as of July 2024. The manga was originally launched as a self-published work in 2009 on the Japanese manga website Nitosha.
Viz Media releases the One-Punch Man manga in English, describing the main synopsis as:
Every time a promising villain appears, Saitama beats the snot out of ’em with one punch! Can he finally find an opponent who can go toe-to-toe with him and give his life some meaning? Or is he doomed to a life of superpowered boredom?
