Today’s announcement arrives on the eve of Silver Branch’s April/May Irish tour.
The Long Goodnight, the debut offering from Kerryman Kieran Mulvihill, aka Silver Branch, will be officially released on Friday, June 7 on digital platforms.
Today’s announcement comes shortly before Silver Branch’s Irish tour, which will see the musician play headline shows in Mayo, Louth, Carlow and Dublin.
The ten-track album promises to take listeners on a journey of self exploration through experiences of betrayal, love, success, failure, and renewal. From vulnerable acoustic tracks like ‘Another Night In’ to the raw and guttural sounds of ‘Even Out’, ‘What is Real’ and ‘Today’.
The album’s lead single ‘The Setting Sun’, has been described the musician as a “slice of life really, living in Dublin and trying to find your way in and out of relationships, good and bad, and working to make ends meet”.
In a recent Hot Press Q & A, the Kerry musician that the name Silver Branch came from a line in a John Moriarty book which read “The music of the Silver Branch”, a term used in Irish mythology, meaning gateway to another world.
