Each yacht concept in Oceanco’s Simply Custom Collection is designed to stand out in terms of aesthetics, performance, efficiency, and onboard amenities. Silver Ocean, the latest addition to the range, is no exception. Coming from the drawing boards of Enrico Gobbi from Team for Design, this new 262-foot (80-meter) superyacht is as striking as the previous models in the custom series.
The Italian design studio responsible for this concept believes that a successful yacht design must, first and foremost, have the right proportions to make it instantly recognizable. They applied the same philosophy when creating Silver Ocean, which comes with “an elusive look, with the overhangs in particular enhancing this perception.”
“The profile features three character lines that emerged from our first concept sketches and which became ‘slits’ of light that characterize Silver Ocean at anchor,” commented Enrico Gobbi.
For this particular design, the studio focused on creating sprawling external spaces with no structural elements on the aft decks that might hinder the ocean views or interrupt the flow. A large pool on the main deck, for instance, comes with a glass bulwark to ensure a unique swimming experience, offering guests panoramic views of the surrounding ocean and creating the sensation of swimming in the sea.
On the lower deck, a lavish beach club is divided into three areas, each offering luxurious amenities. There is a panoramic Jacuzzi, a lush central lounge, and gym facilities.
Details about the interior are scarce, with the designer only mentioning that the owner’s master suite on Silver Ocean will benefit from a private terrace with a pool and a fluid stairway leading to the helipad on the bow. However, we know that the yachts in the Simply Custom series will offer between 2,500 and 2,700 GT of interior volume and will typically have the owner’s suite on the upper deck, accompanied by six guest staterooms on the main deck, with a customizable layout based on the owner’s preferences.
Just like the rest of the yachts in the Simply Custom Collection, Gobbi’s Silver Ocean will boast a highly efficient hull by Lateral Naval Architects with hybrid diesel-electric propulsion systems. In terms of performance, the vessel is expected to offer a top speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed between 14 and 15 knots.
Oceanco’s new Simply Custom Collection, initially introduced during last year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, was born out of the Dutch yard’s desire to offer future owners a more streamlined approach to yacht design and a shorter construction time. The range includes 17 semi-custom superyachts developed by world-renowned designers on the yard’s proven naval platform. This new type of customizable superyacht ensures that the luxury vessels are built upon a reliable technical foundation and allow endless customization options.
