“We are laser focused on giving customers a genuine option to buy green insurance easily”
Close Brothers Premium Finance (CBPF) has entered into an exclusive agreement with The Green Insurer that enables CBPF to offer financing solutions to customers of The Green Insurer who are seeking to adopt greener driving practices.
With a customer base of 2.4 million and collaborations with over 1,500 brokers, CBPF is one of the significant players in the premium finance market. The Green Insurer, launched in November, aims to encourage environmentally friendly driving habits by measuring and offsetting driving emissions. It incentivises drivers for adopting fuel-efficient driving practices or reducing their overall driving frequency. Customers earn points for these green driving habits, which can be exchanged for eco-friendly products.
The Green Insurer’s car insurance products are available through various price comparison websites as well as directly on its website. This partnership with CBPF marks a significant step in expanding access to environmentally conscious car insurance solutions in the UK market.
Additionally, The Green Insurer provides an app allowing customers to track their carbon offsets, rewards, and journeys, along with managing their insurance policies.
Colin Wallace, director of personal lines at CBPF, commented on the partnership, highlighting the alignment of The Green Insurer’s forward-thinking approach with CBPF’s understanding of the challenges faced by both brokers and customers.
“As a group, Close Brothers is a signatory of The Net Zero Banking Alliance and is passionate about working with its customers and wider stakeholders on the journey to a net zero future. Being able to support the ambitions of The Green Insurer is therefore incredibly exciting,” Wallace said.
“With its customer focus and digital capabilities, we’re looking forward to working closely with the Close Brothers Premium Finance team. We are laser focused on giving customers a genuine option to buy green insurance easily, and this exclusive deal will help us meet that goal,” The Green Insurer CEO Paul Baxter said.
