University of Akron Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Dallas Grundy is leaving the university in March after just over three years on the job.
Grundy will become the CFO for Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, effective March 25. His last day in Akron is March 15.
President Gary L. Miller appointed Grundy in the fall of 2020 to oversee the university’s $300 million annual budget. He was previously a vice dean and chief financial officer at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Grundy said in a statement the decision to leave was “not an easy one” and he was not looking to leave Akron, but that the job was a chance to move back to his “east coast roots” and to be near family that lives in Philadelphia.
“The University of Akron and the Akron community have been very special to me and my family, and we will greatly miss the people and the city that we have come to know and love,” Grundy said.
Miller has appointed Jill Bautista, vice president for operations, to the role of interim senior vice president and chief financial officer beginning March 18.
The university will conduct a search for a new senior vice president and chief financial officer, which is expected to take several months.
