Bequant Introduces Capital Platform for Crypto Hedge Fund Support

Digital asset services firm Bequant has introduced a new capital introduction platform tailored for crypto hedge funds and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs).

The firm, which provides prime brokerage services to institutional clients, aims to allocate its capital to traders with investors using the platform. This initiative is part of Bequant’s broader strategy to support various stakeholders within the crypto trading ecosystem.

Moreover, the capital introduction platform is specifically designed for crypto hedge funds and asset allocators, including funds of funds, family offices, and HNWIs. According to Bequant, this platform bridges the gap between investors and hedge fund managers, facilitating better capital flow within the crypto market. By leveraging its existing software and network, Bequant aims to achieve new milestones in the industry.

Prime brokerage services Bequant provides include borrowing securities and cash, which are essential for hedge funds aiming to invest and achieve absolute returns. George Zarya, CEO and founder of Bequant, emphasized the company’s commitment to advancing the crypto trading community, stating,

“Our goal is to capitalize on the software and network we’ve built within the crypto trading community to achieve new milestones in the industry.”

Integration with Fireblocks for Asset Management

Bequant’s collaboration with Fireblocks enables clients to manage assets across various liquidity pools, including 15 centralized exchanges, over 30 decentralized exchanges (DEXes), and numerous OTC liquidity providers. This partnership allows clients to lock their assets into DeFi smart contracts and access liquidity valued at more than $72.5 billion currently locked in DeFi.

Integrating with Fireblocks is a critical component of Bequant’s platform, ensuring secure and efficient management of digital assets. This approach supports the firm’s strategic pivot towards reinforcing its commitment to the asset management business throughout various market cycles.

The Bequant capital introduction platform has received positive feedback from industry participants. Ron Akram, co-founder and co-managing principal of hedge fund Isla Capital, and Chana Kanzen from the Digital Wealth Fund have both utilized the platform. Kanzen remarked,

“It’s been exciting to connect with people from the traditional finance sector interested in the crypto space’s opportunities.”

Similarly, Akram expressed satisfaction with the platform’s ability to bring together a relevant crowd of managers and allocators. He noted,

“I am very impressed at how Bequant has brought the relevant crowd together with real and serious managers and allocators.”
