Bridgewater, the world’s largest hedge fund, is ready to spend big bucks to find future data geniuses.
The Connecticut-based hedge fund is hiring investment engineer interns in its head office with a compensation package of $41,000 for eight weeks, more than $21,000 per calendar month.
“Our compensation package includes a sign-on bonus, as well as housing and travel to and from the office,” Bridgewater said in a job description posted on its website.
The hedge fund is interested in interns who can build data models and algorithmic systems to solve complex problems.
Successful interns will be able to participate in Bridgewater’s summer-long investment engineering class.
“Top summer interns will receive full-time offers to join the team following the successful completion of their degree,” Bridgewater said in its job advertisement.

Paying interns huge sums is not new in the hedge fund world. Last year, Citadel paid its interns $19,000 a month. Ken Griffin’s hedge fund also offered its interns business-class flights, five-star hotels and networking dinners, Bloombergreported.
Top hedge funds are hiring interns around the world. Point72 has 35 open internship roles across Warsaw, London, Singapore, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo, its website says.
Meanwhile, Millennium is looking for interns in London, Dublin, Tel Aviv and Paris for the upcoming summer.
