Canadian private equity firm Peloton Capital Management has struck a deal to invest in Trilogy Financial Services, an Irvine, Calif.-based hybrid RIA with roughly $4bn in client assets under management.
Toronto-based Peloton has taken a minority stake of undisclosed size in Trilogy, which is controlled by its president and chief executive, Jeff Motske (pictured). Peloton’s investment closed on Thursday.
Motske told Citywire that Trilogy hopes to become a solution for aging advisors who are looking to build a succession plan but cannot make an internal transition work. The company has 120 affiliated advisors and support staffers spread across nine offices throughout the US.
