Kirkland and Latham Recruit Private Equity Lateral Partners as PE Deals Rise

With private equity deals making a comeback in 2024, two top-ranked Am Law 100 firms are continuing to build their PE bench, including Latham & Watkins, which added an M&A lawyer from Kirkland & Ellis. Kirkland, meanwhile, announced a private equity specialist from an investment firm.

Latham on Monday said it recruited from Kirkland Matthew Cohn, who will be a partner in its M&A and private equity practice in Boston. For its part, Kirkland added Houston-based Claire Campbell, who was most recently managing director at alternative investment firm Stonepeak.
