People moves: Managing partner of PKA’s private equity arm to leave role | News


Institutional Investment Partners DenmarkAnette Eberhard, managing partner of IIP Denmark, is leaving the role after nearly six years in charge of the Copenhagen-based private equity funds manager.

Eberhard said that together with the team at IIP – which grew out of the pension fund arm PKA AIP (Alternative Investment Partners) – she had achieved many of the goals set for the company when she first accepted the job. She also said she had been in talks with IIP’s owner PKA for some time about how the task could be passed on.

“Leading IIP Denmark is exciting but also demanding, and therefore I have chosen to prioritise more time with my family while at the same time wanting to spend more time on board work in the future,” she said.

Eberhard is to leave the job at the end of June.

PKA’s chief investment officer Michael Nellemann Pedersen said the process of finding a new managing partner had begun.


Åsa Mossberg at AP2

AP2Åsa Mossberg has been appointed head of communication and corporate governance at Swedish national pensions buffer fund AP2, and will start the job – which entails being a member of the fund’s leadership team – at the end of March.

Mossberg is being promoted from her current role as senior sustainability strategist at the Gothenburg-based fund.

She will take over from Ulrika Danielson, who is leaving after more than 14 years in the role. Danielson is to start a new job at the end of May as head of sustainability at Swedish retail centre Gekås Ullared.


Max MatthiessenJon Lieberkind, the founder and former chief executive officer of pensions tech firm Grandhood, which was acquired by Velliv in 2020, has been appointed director for Denmark at financial advisory company Max Matthiessen.

Lieberkind said in a post on LinkedIn that he would be reporting directly to group CEO Jacob Schlawitz in the new role.


Fidelity InternationalKeith Metters has been appointed to lead Fidelity International as president effective 1 March, reporting to chair Abigail Johnson.

Having joined Fidelity in 2020 to lead its workplace investing business, Metters is currently global head of platform solutions. He brings more than 25 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Fidelity, he spent more than 20 years at Fidelity Investments in the US in a variety of roles, culminating in leading its workplace investing core market division where he led the build out of client and investment strategies and solutions at significant scale and was responsible for client propositions and relationship management, all with the aim of retaining and growing clients and assets.

Metters replaces Anne Richards who will take a six-month break before returning to her new role of vice chair.


Leonard Bowman at Hymans Robertson

Hymans Robertson – The consultancy has created the role of head of corporate consulting across the pensions market and appointed Leonard Bowman to fill it. He will be focused on ensuring the firm’s strategy is joined up and coordinated across its corporate clients, helping them to navigate the increasingly complex array of choices they face for their schemes.

Bowman joined Hymans Robertson in April 2021 after the leading pensions and financial services consultancy acquired Bath Actuarial Consulting (BAC), which he co-founded. He grew BAC into a corporate consultation business with clients whose defined benefit (DB) liabilities ranged from £200m to over £20bn.

Since joining Hymans Robertson, Bowman has advised corporate DB clients and led the corporate DB endgame strategy.


Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) – The group have announced two appointments to new senior roles: Cambria Allen-Ratzlaff  as chief RI ecosystems officer for the Americas and APAC regions, and Rose Easton as chief RI ecosystems officer for the UK, Europe and India, Middle East & Africa (IMEA).

Allen-Ratzlaff joins from JUST Capital, a not-for-profit research organisation, where she was managing director and head of investor strategies. Her previous experience includes senior roles at the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust and State of Connecticut Office of the Treasurer as well as serving on a variety of investor-led committees.

Easton had already been carrying out her new role on a temporary basis after having joined the PRI in November 2021 as signatory relations director for northern Europe, Middle East, and Africa. In April 2022, this role extended to cover the continental Europe team, and then in October 2022 she began leading global signatory relations.


Vidett – The UK professional trustee and pension governance firm is further expanding with five new appointments across the business.

Victoria Mance joins as client director in London from the law firm CMS, where she spent over 20 years in the pensions team advising schemes, employers and providers. Her pension advisory work has included ongoing valuation and contingent asset support discussions, complex investments, changes to benefit design, equalisation challenges, handling Ombudsman complaints, liability management, employer debt and Pension Protection Fund (PPF) entry scenarios, scheme end game planning, buy-ins and buyouts.

Azka Ali joins as a client director in Birmingham to provide professional trustee services to clients. She joins from Mercer where she spent 15 years in various roles. Her most recent role was as a scheme actuary advising trustees.

Also in Birmingham, Shaun Kilcoyne joins as a client director. bringing more than 25 years of pensions experience in trustee support, corporate facing and consulting roles. His recent experience includes journey planning, de-risking and helping schemes progress towards their long-term strategic goals. He worked at Smiths Group, the FTSE 100 engineering group, for more than 17 years where he was head of pensions with responsibility for the group’s strategy in respect of approximately £4bn of pension liabilities.

Vidett also welcomes Lucy Loughborough who joins the business development team as bid associate from Just Group, where she was a business analyst managing new business deals, and Sam Karavis, who joins as technology and data trainee from Experian, where he worked as a digital analyst intern, before becoming a business analyst.


Patrick Sanderson at Janus Henderson

Janus HendersonPatrick Sanderson has been appointed as head of UK client group, based in London. He will join the firm on 18 March and report to Ignacio De La Maza, head of EMEA and LatAm client group.

In this newly-created role, Sandersdon will lead the firm’s intermediary and institutional distribution efforts in the UK, as well as UK consultant relations, and will be responsible for the overall direction and strategy of the UK business.

Sanderson brings a wealth of experience having joined from Ninety One where he was head of business development, UK. There he was responsible for sales and client management within the institutional and wholesale teams in addition to consultant relations for the firm’s UK business.

Sanderson’s appointment follows a number of recent senior hires to Janus Henderson’s distribution teams, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to adding top talent to its workforce to deliver for its clients across the globe.


PictetMaria Vassalou joins from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where she was co-CIO of multi-asset solutions, to lead Pictet’s newly-established research institute.

The Pictet Research Institute is a new group-wide capability dedicated to research into topics with long-term implications for investment. Based in Geneva, it will engage in topics ranging from macro- and geopolitics to portfolio implementation solutions.

It will have its own dedicated staff of PhD-level researchers and will also collaborate with select academics and think tanks as well as draw on the Pictet Group’s internal experts.


AXA Investment ManagersJérôme Broustra has been appointed as AXA IM’s head of global rates. Based in Paris, Broustra reports to Marion le Morhedec, global head of fixed income and member of the AXA IM’s management board.

Broustra has been working at AXA IM for the past 20 years and was previously head of investment specialists for fixed income and multi-asset solutions for the core investments platform.

In his new role, Broustra is responsible for global rates strategies for institutional and third-party clients. He also oversees AXA IM’s inflation investment capabilities, as well as the fixed income business in Switzerland and Japan.


Royal London – The UK’s pensions and investment mutual has appointed Peter Josse as its new group chief operating officer.

Josse will join on 4 March and report to Barry O’Dwyer, group CEO. Over a career spanning 20 years in banking, Josse has held a range of senior leadership roles across operations, change management and technology. Since 2018 he has been chief information officer at Barclays Bank plc.


Tokenbridge – The token aggregator and distribution platform has appointed Kim Toker as chair of the firm’s EMEA advisory board. Toker, the co-founder and former chief operating officer of Clara Pensions, brings a wealth of experience in financial services, technological innovation, and strategic leadership. Her career spans over two decades, during which she has made significant contributions to the financial services sector.

Toker’s extensive leadership experience will expand Tokenbridge’s influence in the wealth and fund management ecosystem.
