‘Private markets are compelling, but we are cautious’


Joshua Gennet is head of investments at Atomos, which he joined earlier this year from Ethical Capital Opportunity Advisors which he co-founded in 2018. Before that he was head of MSCI’s portfolio management analytics business in EMEA

Which fund in your portfolios are you most pleased with?

We don’t think about our fund allocations in isolation — we are trying to create an investment allocation that meets the needs of our clients for long term wealth creation.

Different parts of the portfolio are there to play different roles, like instruments in an orchestra.

You wouldn’t ask “which of the violins sounded the best” — the question is, did everyone in the orchestra do their job well and in harmony with the others?

I think our longer-term track record is what we are most pleased with.
