Sagard hires for MENA region

Sagard welcomed Dona Abboud to its MENA team, adding expertise in capital formation.

Abboud joined Sagard as a senior manager within the Capital Formation team in the Abu Dhabi office. She brings a wealth of experience from her previous role as senior manager, Middle East at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, where she worked for over 11 years in Dubai.

The $25 billion Montreal-based firm is known for its offerings in venture capital, private equity, private credit and real estate.

Sagard launched its office in the heart of Abu Dhabi Global Market less than a year ago under the leadership of Firas Mallah, managing director and head of the Middle East, who joined last September after serving as chief executive officer of MENA for Gilded, a U.S. fintech. Prior to Gilded he served as the MENA senior representative officer and managing director of BMO-Bank of Montreal’s regional office in Abu Dhabi, in addition to founding MMK Capital, a multifamily office based in the Dubai International Financial Centre.
