Schroders Capital creates private markets AI platform

Schroders Capital has introduced a new artificial intelligence (AI) platform for its private markets business.

The Generative AI Investment Analyst (GAiiA) platform will initially be used for private equity transactions, with a view to rolling it out across other private markets in due course.

The platform has been designed to speed up the analysis of large volumes of data, so that Schroders’ private equity investment specialists can focus on strategy.

“This proprietary platform will elevate our investment analysis to a new level, enabling our team to make faster and even more informed investment decisions and to focus on higher-value activities,” said Nils Rode, chief investment officer at Schroders Capital.

“The implementation of GAiiA showcases our commitment to innovation and leveraging technology to deliver superior client outcomes.”

Schroders Group has used AI in various parts of its business for “a substantial period,” the company said. GAiiA is intended to be used primarily as a data analysis tool, which can help to accelerate the due diligence processes and create draft investment memos for the team.

It will be expanded for use in private equity primaries and secondaries in the future and to other private market asset classes within Schroders Capital where appropriate.

“Schroders envisions a future where AI tools become an integral part of the investment process,” said Graham Taylor, head of private assets data insights at Schroders Capital.

“The implementation of GAiiA is a significant step towards this vision. We are committed to driving innovation and embracing technology to deliver exceptional value to our clients across asset classes.”
