Adapt Commercial Property opens new Glasgow studio

Fergus Maclennan

ADAPT Commercial Property has unveiled its new Glasgow studio at the McLellan Works on Sauchiehall Street.

The move marks the agency’s first anniversary after being founded in June 2023 by Fergus Maclennan, formerly a partner and head of Glasgow business space agency at Cushman & Wakefield.

Adapt Commercial Property revealed that it provides advice to landlords, investors and occupier clients focused on ‘innovation, quality and, most importantly, the end user’.

The opportunity to secure space at McLellan Works, a project in which Fergus Maclennan advised developer client Bywater Properties, provided the ‘perfect collaboration’ to showcase the Adapt brand and ethos.

“McLellan Works is a development which I have advised on from the initial acquisition and concept design to project delivery and leasing. I am proud of the development,” Fergus Maclennan said. “The building has been transformed with meticulous detail and passion to provide innovative future workspace to support a vibrant and entrepreneurial culture that goes beyond work. It perfectly aligns with our ethos at Adapt.

“Workplace trends have changed rapidly with the global pandemic resetting how we live, work and do business. The commercial property market has been in a state of flux, but the opportunity to transform and adapt excites us. Both landlords and occupiers now recognise the importance of creating the right workplace environment to recruit and retain the best talent with a strong focus on quality.

“McLellan Works has been a great example of this, a transformational office development on Sauchiehall Street which, despite completion during the pandemic, leased up quicker than any other property in the City with 32 lettings in three years and more in the pipeline.”

Dan Mead, head of leasing at Bywater Properties, added, “We have been working with Fergus and Adapt Commercial Property since the start of our ownership and refurbishment of McLellan Works and he has been a strong and vociferous supporter of the building throughout the project. It is fantastic to be a part of the next stage of Adapt’s development.

“It speaks volumes of the success of McLellan Works, and the regeneration of the western side of the city, that one of our leasing team has chosen this location to grow their business from. If our building is good enough for the property advisors then we must be doing something right!”
