Body of woman found by maintenance man at Plymouth property


The body of a woman was unexpectedly discovered in the bathroom of a property in Devonport by a maintenance man, an inquest has heard.

Senior coroner Philip Spinney opened an inquest at Devon Coroner’s Court in Exeter into the death of Linda Robinson, who passed away aged 74, at a flat in Albert Road, Plymouth.




Reading the opening statement at the public hearing, Mr Spinney said Ms Robinson was born in Staffordshire and resided at a property in Morgans Road, Plymouth. She was registered retired from a role in the National Farmer’s Union.

Reading out the circumstances surrounding Ms Robinson’s death he said Ms Robinson was found in a “badly decomposed” state by a maintenance man at an address owned by her in Plymouth on May 28 this year.

He added that on the present evidence the medical cause of death was unascertained.

Mr Spinney said an investigation was required to be carried out into the circumstances of Ms Robinson’s death. He adjourned the hearing and full inquest will be carried out at a later date.
