Buyers in Swindon face this problem with the average house price in the town now being calculated at approximately £251,746.
This has risen within the last year as it was reported last February that the average price of a house in the town would cost £238,826.
Of course, some areas have cheaper housing on offer than others around the town.
With this in mind, the Adver has compiled a list of the cheapest streets in Swindon and included an average price of property for each street with data courtesy of PropertySolvers.
The street that lays claim to having the cheapest average property price is Erin Court, off Kingshill Road, where the average price of a house is £76,250.
Although Erin Court is ranked as being the cheapest overall, second-placed Stonefield Close in Eastleaze is not far behind at £76,357 per home on average.
The next three entries are all under the £85,000 mark for their respective property prices.
Speedwell Close in Haydon and The Heights in Old Town have an average property cost of £79,060 and £79,812 respectively.
The £85,000 threshold is broken by a road in Westlea, with Applewood Court’s properties costing £85,333 approximately on average while those in Willowherb Close are typically priced at £85,800.
Copse Avenue, close to the railway line off Stratton Road, saw the most sales out of the entries on the cheapest streets list, having 12 of its homes sold in the year of 2023.
The properties in question have an average price of approximately £90,082.
Swindon’s final three entries all come in with a similar price to this with properties in both Azelin Court and Charminster Close costing £89,500 and £93,500 respectively on average.
Milton Road comes in as the most expensive on the list of 10 streets, with properties priced at £94,166 per property on average.
