Dorset high street property up for auction

The freehold building at 7-9 High Street, Gillingham, is listed with a guide price of £220,000 to £240,000.

It is one of 168 lots in the latest auction by Clive Emson Auctioneers, which spans across southern England.

Mike Marchant, senior auction appraiser, said: “Within a stone’s throw of the bridge which features in the painting by John Constable, the building has consent for conversion to three two-bedroom units.

The online auction is set to finish on Thursday, July 24, with bidding open from 48 hours prior.

Also included in the auction is a three-bedroom maisonette in New Milton’s Station Road.

The first and second floor property has a guide price of £125,000 to £135,000.

It is to be sold with a 999-year lease and a peppercorn rent.

Joe Rocks, auction appraiser, said: “The maisonette is considered very worthy of the improvements required, after which it will be ideally suited to an owner occupier, for re-sale into the local market, or addition to an income-producing portfolio.”
