Edinburgh resident says waste and flytipping issues bringing down property prices

A long time Gorgie resident has lashed out at the state of their community and has said that litter and poorly maintained streets is attracting vermin as well as negatively impacting property prices.

The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, has said that they have never seen the streets as ‘filthy and dirty’ as they are today.

They say that the side streets leading off Gorgie Road are riddled with issues like dumped trade waste, dog fouling, broken roads, filthy curbs, completely blocked drains and overgrown trees.

They have called on Edinburgh City Council to tackle issues and argue that if the problems go unchallenged then property prices could plummet in the area.

Several images were taken over the past week (Monday, February 19-Saturday 24) which highlights the difficulties that residents are facing.
