Helensburgh’s three most expensive properties on the market

Here are the three most expensive properties currently on the market in the town, totalling over £2 million between them.

Deanston

This charming six-bedroom home with a cinema, hot tub and “entertainment space” is set within large private gardens and boasts a giant Californian redwood tree, thought to be some 150 years old, in its grounds.

The sandstone C-listed home, with its distinctive turreted Victorian façade, has been located on Queen Street since around 1870.

The home is being marketed by McEwan Fraser Legal who are seeking offers over £880,000.

This is one Helensburgh’s most celebrated architectural gems which has been transformed into residential properties after lying abandoned for almost a decade.

The baronial mansion, incorporating lavish Anglo-Japanese interiors, including a gold stencilled ceiling, stained glass windows and decorative stonework, all by famous Glasgow artist Daniel Cottier, has become an iconic feature of Helensburgh’s waterfront landscape.

The category A-listed Cairndhu House, designed by renowned Scottish architect William Leiper has been turned into nine luxury apartments and seven new build garden homes.

And one of the luxury two-bedroom triplex’s, named ‘The Cottier’, on the ground floor is on the market.

This historical mansion is being marked by Corum who are seeking offers over £600,000.

The View Rockfort

This five-bedroom home is on the waterfront of Helensburgh and offers breathtaking scenic views of the Firth of Clyde that can be appreciated all-year round.

Rockfort was built in 1849 for the Provost of Helensburgh and was designed by the renowned architect William Spence.

The house is grade ‘B’ listed and it is set amidst a delightfully small, gated development of elegant, detached houses.

A key feature of the home is the main lounge that has a dramatic room with original cornicework and a natural stone fireplace at its focal point.

The property is being marketed by Robb Residential for offers of over £575,000.
