The Batam Interconnect Forum concluded yesterday with a resounding success, bringing together over 200 industry leaders from across the region. Held at the Marriott Batam, the exclusive, invitation-only event focused on the critical role of digital infrastructure in the development of the Batam region.
The forum featured a lineup of esteemed speakers who shared insights on key strategies, projects, and initiatives driving digital transformation in the area. Damon Lim, Asia Pacific Regional Director of datacenterHawk, kicked off the event with a keynote on Batam’s position in the Asian telco and data center markets.
A panel discussion on sustainability in the digital infrastructure sector followed, featuring experts from GoNetZero™, ENGIE Impact, NeutraDC Nxera Batam, MedcoEnergiPower, and PLN. Moderated by Daryl Dunbar, the panel addressed the carbon footprint of data centers and cloud computing, exploring strategies for reducing energy consumption and promoting green data practices.
Bogi Witjaksono, Director of Wholesale & International Service at Telkom Indonesia, provided insights into data center and connectivity strategies across Singapore and Indonesia. Another panel discussion moderated by Danny Kobrata focused on Nusantara and Beyond in an Interconnect World, covering advancements in undersea and terrestrial communication infrastructure, cross-border data flows, and the impact of connectivity on local economies and data centers.
Hamid Maani, Chief Sales Officer of BW Digital, delivered a keynote on unlocking the potential of Indonesia’s digital transformation through interconnectivity and cloud infrastructure. The forum concluded with a panel discussion on the challenges, opportunities, and innovative technologies for DC operators in Batam, moderated by Wulan Romianingsih.
