Agartala Jan 14: The work for reconstruction of capital city’s Battala market into a complete modern market will start from the month of March next, said Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder.
Sunday, the Mayor visited the Battala market along with the engineers and other officials to finalize the place from where the work shall start.
Speaking to the reporters, Dipak Majumder said, “After the massive devastation because of fire, the state government has decided to rebuild the market in compliance with modern infrastructure. A complete plan has been taken up to rebuild the market and the work will commence from March next”.
However, as there are many traders in the market, part by part construction will be done so that the business doesn’t get affected, he said.
The Mayor also informed that temporary shops will be set up in the TRTC area as an alternative arrangement for the traders.
