Belarus explores PPP infrastructure experience in Russia’s Kaluga Oblast




MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) — Belarus shows interest in Kaluga Oblast’s experience in infrastructure projects using the mechanism of public-private partnership (PPP), Belarus’ Deputy Economy Minister Vladimir Naumovich said at a meeting with the management of Russia’s Kaluga Oblast public-private partnership center, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.

The parties discussed bilateral cooperation on infrastructure projects. “Sharing experience of implementing PPP infrastructure projects, improving the competences of state and local bodies authorized to act as public partners, and participation in joint events with Russia will provide the most efficient way of infrastructure development in our countries,” Vladimir Naumovich said.

The Kaluga Oblast public-private partnership center presented the most significant PPP infrastructure projects implemented in Russia.

Following the meeting, the Belarusian delegation have been invited to visit Kaluga Oblast to see the projects already implemented and apply the experience in Belarus.

The meeting resulted in the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Kaluga Oblast public-private partnership center and Belarus’ National Agency of Investment and Privatization.
