As reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure, during a meeting of government officials from Ukraine and Finland with Finnish businesses, discussions were held regarding cooperation in energy security, production of building materials, and construction of bomb shelters. The Ministry of Infrastructure added that Finland’s national plan for the recovery of Ukraine envisages a €25M increase in the state development fund’s (Finnfund) budget to finance projects in Ukraine. The fund will amount to about €150M. The special fund for lending projects in the public sector, the Public Sector Investment Facility, will support Finnish companies participating in Ukraine’s reconstruction. At the same time, Lithuania’s Minister of Finance, Gintare Skaiste, said that Lithuania is allocating another €5M to reconstruct destroyed schools and kindergartens in Ukraine and install bomb shelters. She also added that in the context of delayed decision-making in the US, the quick allocation of aid from the EU becomes vital.
