Meanwhile, the Morristown Central School District has approved a $17 million capital improvement project to bolster school infrastructure and address security concerns. The initiative, slated to begin in 2025, will see the replacement of the roof, enhancement of classrooms, and upgrading of doors and locks.
New seating will be added to the gymnasium, providing a much-needed update to the district’s athletic facilities. The project will be funded through state aid, reserve funds, and potential contributions from corporations.
SMK Subang Jaya’s Transformation
Across the globe in Selangor, SMK Subang Jaya has recently completed the upgrade of its assembly area, replacing the previously damaged premix surface with interlocking bricks. This transformation was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Subang Jaya assemblyman Michelle Ng, the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation, and Sunway Group, which donated surplus materials.
The school’s Parent-Teacher Association now looks to improve other critical areas of the school, such as the roof, electrical wiring, and plumbing. With the help of corporate funding, they hope to provide a safer and more comfortable learning environment for their over 900 students.
The headmistress, Rafidah Rashid, expressed her gratitude for the new assembly area surface. Plans are underway to construct a structure above the assembly area for shade and cover, with the school actively seeking funding for the project.
