Commerz Real – Michael Henn has been appointed global head of green deal infrastructure, Henn will be responsible for the transaction and acquisition business, project developments and asset management in the field of renewable energies and infrastructure investments. Prior to joining Commerz Real, Henn, among other things, was head of transactions and commercial executive board at Gerchgroup and CEO of Immobel Germany.
ICG – The global alternative asset manager has appointed Greg Minson as global head of asset management within its real estate business. Based in London, Minson joins ICG real estate’s leadership team, and will work closely with global head of real estate, Krysto Nikolic, to further grow and scale the platform. Minson will provide global leadership across asset and fund management, debt capital markets, as well as portfolio finance and operational functions. He will also join the real estate investment committee. Minson joins ICG from Goldman Sachs, where he was most recently global COO for the real estate group within the asset and wealth management division. Minson also previously led the realty management division in Europe and Asia, and was CFO of the European special situations group. Minson has over 25 years of experience at Goldman across multiple divisions, regions and leadership positions, having joined as an Analyst in 1998.
Nuveen – Lena Doan, Jeff Hostettler and Eliot Javanmardi have joined the investment firm’s energy infrastructure credit division as managing directors. Malcolm Bean and Luke Schaefer have also joined the unit as associate and analyst respectively. Doan was previously a managing director at HPS Investment Partners, where she focused on private credit, structured equity and special situations investments in energy, power and renewables. Hostettler was previously a managing director at HPS Investment Partners, where he invested across the capital structure for the energy, power and renewables team for more than a decade. Javanmardi was previously managing director and head of the Houston office for HPS Investment Partners, where he had focused on investing across the capital structure for the energy, power and renewables vertical since 2015. Bean gained previous experience in the energy trading space through quantitative analyst roles at Morgan Stanley, Lacima Group and Twin Eagle, where he focused on risk analytics. Schaefer previously supported Koch Industries’ commodity production and trading business through financial and commercial analysis.
CBRE Investment Management – Jonathan San Antonio has joined as senior director for the company’s US closed-end enhanced return series. In his role with the CBRE strategic partners US fund series, he will help formulate and implement each fund’s strategy and drive investment performance, with responsibilities in portfolio management, capital deployment, asset management, financing, dispositions, and capital raising. Prior to joining CBRE IM, he was VP at Ares Management where he focused on executing equity investments across property sectors for opportunistic, value-add and core-plus fund vehicles. He also previously held private equity and investment banking roles at Rockwood Capital, CIM Group and Credit Suisse.
Goldman Sachs – Ivo de Wit will join the firm as a managing director on the real estate investing team in London to lead the strategic direction and growth of the European core-plus offering, He was formally at CBRE Investment Management, where he led their flagship global open-ended core-plus fund and is an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School.
Madison Realty Capital – Samir Tejpaul has joined the firm as managing director and head of capital markets. Tejpaul has more than a decade of commercial real estate and investing experience leading loan origination and structuring, alternative asset backed lending, and institutional capital raising initiatives. Most recently, Tejpaul served as managing director and head of credit capital markets and specialty asset finance for Affinius Capital. Since 2018, Tejpaul has led, structured, or financed billions worth of gross lending deals across a variety of strategies, including transitional bridge loans, construction loans, preferred equity, CMBS, and subordinate debt. Prior to joining Affinius Capital in 2018, Tejpaul served as a VP in Deutsche Bank’s commercial real estate group. Tejpaul currently serves as chair of the alternative lenders and high yield investors forum for the CRE Finance Council.
Capital & Regional – The convenience and community focused shopping centre REIT has appointed Gerry Murphy as a non-executive director. Murphy will join the audit, nominations and remuneration committees. Murphy will subsequently take over as audit committee chairman from Ian Krieger, effective from the company’s annual general meeting scheduled for 3 June 2024, at which Krieger will stand down from the board, having served his full nine-year term as an independent director of the company. Murphy is currently a non-executive director of Currys PLC and was previously senior independent director of Capital & Counties Properties. Murphy is also a non-executive board member of the department of health and social care, chairs its audit and risk committee and is a co-opted member of the NHS England audit and risk assurance committee. He is a former Deloitte partner and was a member of the Deloitte board and chairman of its audit committee. Prior to that, Murphy was also chairman of the audit and assurance faculty of the institute of chartered accountants in England and Wales.
Investcorp Corsair Infrastructure Partners – John D Porcari has been appointed MD for public policy and partnerships. Porcari has transitioned into a full-time role from his previous position as an operating partner at the firm, which he held since 2017, and will continue serving as a board member of Investcorp Corsair investment platform Vantage Airport Group. Porcari will be responsible for originating new investment opportunities across the transportation, logistics and associated sectors, with a particular focus on large-scale public-private partnership transactions. Prior to Investcorp Corsair, Porcari served for four and a half years as deputy secretary of the US Department of Transportation in the Obama administration. He also served as White House port and supply chain envoy in the Biden administration, as well as president of US advisory services for WSP.
NTR – The infrastructure asset manager has appointed Donal Tierney as chairperson. Tierney will play a role leading the board of directors, overseeing NTR’s strategic business direction. Tierney was a director at NTR between 2000 to 2014. He has 24 years’ experience as CEO and current chair of global veterinary pharmaceuticals manufacturer and distributor Bimeda. In addition, Tierney currently holds the role of chair of Green Biofuels Ireland. He is also the chair of Sterimol.
Bidwells – Amy Souter has joined the property consultancy as a group partner in its new energy and climate department. Souter joins from a 13-year stint at Carter Jonas, where she was a partner. At Bidwells, Souter, working within the energy and renewables facet of the energy and climate department, will primarily focus on advising landowners on energy and grid infrastructure projects across England and Wales, as well as supporting developers with land assembly and due diligence on targeted projects.
DTRE – The commercial property adviser has announced nine promotions and new junior hires across the business. Matt Smith and Harry Glatman have been promoted to the partnership, with roles as head of science and technology and head of alternative capital markets respectively. In the industrial and logistics capital markets team, Geraint Davies has been promoted to partner, Polly Bennett to associate partner and George Marsden to senior surveyor. Across the wider business, Amelia Balkwill has taken on the new role of head of ESG consultancy, Jack Weatherilt was promoted to associate partner in DTRE’s Manchester office, Jamie Poole to senior research analyst and Nancy Cooper to senior business executive. Founders David Turner and Keith Dowley have taken on new roles as managing partner and chairman of UK industrial and logistics capital markets respectively. The business also recently welcomed Will Elvidge to the industrial and logistics capital markets team as a qualified investment surveyor, joining from Cushman & Wakefield.
