Russia targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure every day – PM Svyrydenko

Russia is attacking Ukraine with Shahed drones with cluster munitions and is carrying out double strikes to injure rescuers and energy workers who are restoring facilities after the attack.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said this in a Telegram post seen by Ukrinform.

“Russia is targeting Ukraine with Shaheds carrying cluster munitions and is launching repeated strikes to injure rescuers and energy workers who are restoring facilities after the destruction. Every day, the enemy is targeting our energy infrastructure. The only thing that can stop the aggressor is effective and consistent pressure: economic, political, military,” she wrote.

Svyrydenko recalled that last night saw another massive Russian terror against Ukraine. Russia attacked Ukrainian cities with 300 drones and 37 missiles, with the Vinnytsia, Sumy, Poltava, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions under attack.

A post office was damaged in Nizhyn, one person was injured. In the Kharkiv region, critical infrastructure and part of the State Emergency Service were hit, with casualties reported. Services are working around the clock on the ground, and restoration is underway.

On the night of October 15-16, Russia carried out another combined attack on Ukraine, hitting the country’s energy infrastructure, in particular the gas sector.
