Sen. Ossoff Announces Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Funding Opportunity to Improve Georgia’s Major Transportation Hubs

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff today announced Federal grant funding is available to upgrade major transportation hubs across Georgia through the bipartisan infrastructure law.

The National Infrastructure Project Assistance (Mega) program and the Nationally Significant Multimodal Freight & Highway Projects program (INFRA), both made possible by the bipartisan infrastructure law, offer funding to governments and regional transportation planning organizations for regional transportation projects through a competitive U.S. Department of Transportation grant process.

A broad variety of projects are eligible for grant funding, including highway, bridge, freight, port, passenger rail, and public transportation projects; and to improve the safety, accessibility, efficiency, and reliability of the movement of freight and people in and across rural and urban areas.

“Our bipartisan infrastructure law will continue to deliver long-overdue upgrades to Georgia’s infrastructure for years to come,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I encourage Georgia communities to contact me and my office with any questions about this grant opportunity.”

In December, Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock previously delivered $15 million through the INFRA program to help upgrade infrastructure at the Port of Brunswick — improving operations, creating economic opportunities, and strengthening Georgia’s supply chains.

Mega applications can be submitted online here and INFRA applications can be submitted online here.

Applications to both programs must be submitted by May 6, 2024.
