SEOUL, Jun. 4 (Korea Bizwire)The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Tuesday it will host a forum this week to explore opportunities for South Korean companies to invest and do business in Africa, as part of efforts by Seoul to advance economic ties with the region.

The 2024 Korea-Africa Infrastructure Forum will be held at the Westin Josun Seoul hotel on Wednesday, which will be attended by key dignitaries from Africa, including the president of Tanzania and infrastructure-related ministers from Rwanda, Kenya and Ghana.

International organizations, such as the African Development Bank, the African Export-Import Bank and the International Finance Corporation, will also participate in the gathering organized on the occasion of the inaugural Korea-Africa summit held this week in Seoul.

African ministers plan to announce their respective countries’ infrastructure development plans that are of interest to Korean businesses.

The ministry also plans to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Rwandan infrastructure ministry related to cooperation in areas involving smart city infrastructure and mobility.
