Nottingham Hot Property, the major music charity event, is one of the best and most exciting events in the property and construction calendar. This is also the view of Stuart Smith, senior business development manager at Morgan Sindall Construction.
Ahead of the popular event’s return its special anniversary show, read on to find out what else Stuart had to say about Hot Property and this year’s event.
How many years have you supported/attended Hot Property?
It’s three years and counting!
Why is Hot Property so important to you?
Hot Property is one of the few events in the calendar that attracts not only everyone from across the property and construction market, but also every level of seniority of those that work within the sector too. This is also important as I believe integrating the next generation of professionals into the industry is essential if we want to retain talent in the built environment for generations to come. Hot Property is also an opportunity to showcase my incredible dance moves too!
Why did you want to sponsor the event?
These events are what make our industry so brilliant, so we were delighted to get involved when the opportunity arose.
What’s your favourite Hot Property memory or performance from over the years and why?
There are too many memories to mention, and so many fantastic individual performances. I think one of the great Hot Property achievements is convincing Matt Hutton from Bond Bryan Architects that he can actually sing!
If I hear one more rendition of Gold by Spandau Ballet, I won’t be responsible for my actions though!
Hot Property has been going now since 2004. What were you doing 20 years ago?
20 years ago, I was a site manager for another main contractor, and I haven’t aged a day since!
What are you looking forward to most about Hot Property this year?
This is our first year as a sponsor, so that is something new to look forward to. I think the new venue is stunning, which I’m sure will create a real festival atmosphere.
