Police launch witness appeal after five armed men burgle residential property in Reading on Saturday – Reading Today Online


THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an armed, aggravated burglary in Reading.

At around 11.30pm on Saturday, February 10, five offenders forced entry into a residential property on Body Road.

The offenders, all wearing black face coverings, were carrying knives as they searched the address, from which they then stole mobile phones and a quantity of cash.

Three of the residents sustained minor injuries, but none required hospital treatment.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Jennifer Cox, part of the Priority Crime Team based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this burglary to please get in touch.

“Also, if you have any CCTV or doorbell footage in the area or dash-cam footage if you were driving in the area around the time, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact us by calling 101 or via our website, quoting reference number 43240066314.

“Alternatively, you can report information completely anonymously to the independent charity, Crimestoppers, by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
