Billionaire chicken heiress lists Barbie Dream House

2 Etham Ave, Darling Point has oodles of personality both inside and out.

A welcoming entrance and a charming facade come together to make a great first impression at this turn of last century home on Etham Ave, Darling Point.

Owner Sue Ingham, daughter of late chicken farming magnate Jack Ingham, said it was love at first sight when house hunting with her daughter Jess 15 years ago.

“We pulled up out the front and saw the lovely gate house,” Ingham said.

“My daughter looked at me, and I looked at her and I said ‘This is my house’.

“It was just love at first sight — there was such a good feeling and we hadn’t even walked inside.

First impressions … For Sue Ingham, it was love at first sight.

She didn’t want or need to change the exterior.

And these iconic views are dream like.

“I know when I look at a house I think about what I can do to the inside and when we saw this place I got a great feeling straightaway.

“There had also been a lovely family who had brought their kids up here so I knew it was an ideal home.”

Since then, Ingham collaborated with Bourkeshire Interiors to put her personal touches on the five-bedroom three-level period home in one of the Darling Point’s most coveted streets.

“I didn’t feel anything on the outside needed changing, but I’ve done some cosmetic changes inside.

“I just love colour and I really love my house, so does my daughter, my grandchildren and my dogs.

But after buying the home 15 years ago, Ingham set to work on redecorating.

The home is splashed with pink throughout.

“The only reason I’m selling is because I’m downsizing,” she said.

The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home with double garage is for sale in an expressions of interest campaign via Daphne Sauvage and Michael Pallier of Sotheby’s.

Her daughter Jess and husband Roger Zraika also recently planned to make a move when they listed their luxury Woolloomooloo finger wharf apartment for sale with a $15m asking price late last year.

The pair later withdrew the property from the market.
