President Trump’s son Eric said Sunday that the Trump Organization will soon stop developing real estate projects in foreign countries.
“In light of politics, we’ve said, ‘hey, listen, we’re not going to expand anymore internationally. We’re not going to do any new international projects,’” Trump told Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo.
Trump and his brother, Don Jr., took over their father’s real estate empire shortly before he entered office, and they currently manage his trust. However, the president has faced ongoing criticism for refusing to fully extricate himself from his business by selling it off to a third party.
Eric Trump said he and his brother will continue to work on domestic real estate projects and feel there are plenty of opportunities in certain states.
“You see places that are reducing taxes, they’re trying to incentivize businesses to come in. Those are always the places that do immensely well,” he told Fox Business.
Florida, he said, is a perfect example.
“They have low taxes, they’ve got an incredible quality of life. Real estate prices weren’t astronomical, meaning you could move from a state like New York into Florida — you could get a much bigger bang for the buck,” he said.
