Singer Hong Jin Young Buys a Townhouse in Gimpo: The “3.5 Billion Won (approximately 2.69 million US dollars) Building Owner” Makes Another Real Estate Investment
Hong Jin Young has recently purchased a townhouse currently under development in Gimpo City, Gyeonggi Province. According to an exclusive report by Star Today on March 19, Hong Jin Young signed a land sale contract for a townhouse in The Zone I Forest Gimpo.
The property spans approximately 150 pyeong (about 495 square meters) with the land costing around 600 million won (461,538 US dollars). Including construction costs, the total investment is expected to exceed 1 billion won (769,231 US dollars). Hong plans to start construction on the house as soon as the land development is complete, aiming for completion within the year.
The townhouse complex, boasting 40,000 pyeong (about 132,000 square meters) and 171 units, offers seven different styles of homes, with customizable designs available at the homeowner’s request.
It remains unclear whether Hong Jin Young will use the Gimpo townhouse, located about an hour’s drive from her current residence in Gangnam District, Seoul, as a second home or as her primary residence.
A real estate industry insider noted the advantages of townhouse communities over standalone rural homes, particularly in terms of maintenance. The new townhouse complex is strategically located near the Han River Gimpo 2nd New City Compact City and the tourist destination of Ganghwa Island, offering a geographical advantage close to downtown Seoul.
Recently, Hong Jin Young shared a post on her social media saying, “Enjoying not just a feast for the ears but a feast for the nose in Gomak-ri, Gimpo. The air is so clean~ As I get older, I find myself seeking places with cleaner air. Is it just me?“—a post speculated to have been made after the purchase.
Previously in September last year, it was revealed that Hong Jin Young acquired a 5-story building in Songjeong-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, for 35 billion won. The building, located opposite to one owned by actress Go So Young, was purchased under the name of IMH Entertainment, a one-person agency founded by Hong. The newly constructed building, completed last year, boasts a modern exterior and currently serves as the company’s office.
Known as the “Queen of Events,” Hong Jin Young performs at over 300 events annually. Since her debut with “Love Battery” in 2009, she has released numerous hits like “Living Is,” “Thumbs Up,” “Goodbye,” and “Tonight.”
Hong once shared in a broadcast that she had performed at up to seven to eight events in a day, including same-day overseas events in Japan and Da Nang, Vietnam. Despite the pandemic in 2020, she reportedly earned 35 billion won in sales. At the end of last year, she launched the beauty brand “Chic BlanC,” achieving sold-out success on home shopping networks.
