202/8 Bligh Place, Melbourne, is on the second floor of the historic Leicester House complex.

Photographer Wayne Fogden and his partner, fashion veteran Kate Hann, are selling their cool warehouse-style Melbourne apartment with a $2.3m-$2.5m price range.

The two-bedroom home is one of 19 residences within the heritage-listed, 1886-built Leicester House complex.

Fogden has worked for companies like Bonds, American Express and AMP, while one of his long-term projects is a photo series capturing Italy’s iconic palazzos, villas and theatres such as the Doge’s Palace in Venice, Parma’s Teatro Regio and Florence’s Palazzo Corsini.

Ms Hann’s career in the apparel industry has included stints at Bras N Things and hosiery company Voodoo.

After 11 years at the 202/8 Bligh Place home, the couple have relocated to Sydney but said they would miss the many friends they have made among Leicester House’s residents, plus owners and workers at nearby businesses.

The apartment features Flinders Lane views, 3.5m-high ceilings, exposed beams, archways, Jarrah flooring and large double-glazed windows.

Ms Hann and Fogden have entertained their nearest and dearest in the kitchen, equipped with a marble island bench and Miele and Smeg appliances including a five burner gas hob.

The main bedroom has a wall of built-in wardrobes and an ensuite with marble floors, while the second bedroom is serviced by another bathroom.

A study containing a built-in desk and shelving is ideal for working at home.

Fogden and Ms Hann said when they first saw the second-floor abode, they fell in love with its historic charm and Murano glass chandelier.

“Everything about the building is very quiet and private, it’s a bit of a sanctuary,” Ms Hann said.

“For me, I love being close to all of what the city offers, theatres, shopping, cafe culture and restaurants.”

Having a 215sq m floor plan was another bonus.

“When friends visit they say, ‘You don’t have to put furniture against the walls,” Ms Hann added.

Her partner has used the apartment’s walls to display his own photos and artworks by their creative friends.

Other highlights are a lift to access the basement car park, full-size laundry, hydronic heating and ceiling fans.

Kay & Burton’s Will Winter said the apartment would suit a business executive or restauranter seeking a city base.

Expressions of interest close at 4pm on July 30.
