North west estate agency Berkeley Shaw Real Estate has acquired three-branch agency Adams Estate Agents.
The purchase forms part of Berkeley Shaw’s plan to widen its geographical reach and services, the company says. Adams has three offices in Runcorn, Widnes and Stockton Heath, which will now form part of the Berkeley Shaw group, which will be added to its existing six-office network in the region.
The acquisition also brings 25 new employees into the fold, raising Berkeley Shaw’s total headcount to over 60.
Rebrand
The deal will see Adams rebrand as Adams Real Estate in the coming months to reflect the wider range of property-related services now available to clients.

John Baybut, MD at Berkeley Shaw, says: “Joining Adams with Berkeley Shaw means we can introduce block management, surveying and commercial property management to Cheshire, whilst opening wider career opportunities for our current and new colleagues alike.”
Baybut says that it was not just geography that made Adams a suitable fit for the acquisition.
Personal experience
He has personal experience of the company’s professionalism after it handled both the sale of his previous home and the purchase of his new one.
Berkeley Shaw Real Estate started out as a firm of chartered surveyors but through acquisition and organic growth as well as diversification has grown into an estate agency and property/block management player in and around Liverpool, where it is headquartered.

Damian Morris-Adams, MD at Adams, says: “It was important that Adams Estate Agents continued under the leadership of someone who shares our values, principles, and commitment to exceptional service.
“I am immensely proud of what we have achieved over the years and am grateful to my colleagues, our clients and partners who have supported us.”
