Saudi Housing minister concludes Turkey visit, strengthens cooperation in real estate and infrastructure

Saudi Gazette report

ISTANBUL — The Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing, Majid Al-Hogail, concluded his official visit to Turkey, which aimed to enhance cooperation between the two countries in real estate development, road infrastructure, waste management, and recycling.

The visit also sought to create new alliances between Saudi and Turkish contractors in these areas.

During the visit, Al-Hogail met with Burak Daglioglu, head of the Investment Office of Turkey. They discussed various topics, including improving the real estate investment environment, developing economic zones, activating public-private partnerships, and linking Saudi and Turkish companies in the real estate development sector to explore current and future investment opportunities.

The visit also saw the launch of the Saudi-Turkish Contracting Forum and an accompanying workshop organized by the Saudi Contractors Authority. The events aimed to link contracting companies from both countries and create alliances for major development projects.

The session included participation from Turkish Deputy Minister of Trade, Mustafa Tuzgu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Contractors Authority, Engineer Zakaria Al-Abdulqader, President of Turkish Contractors Association, Erdal Eren, and representatives from Saudi and Turkish companies.

During one of the forum’s sessions, Al-Hogail stressed the importance of coordination and joint work between Saudi and Turkish companies in environment, roads, hygiene, and waste management and recycling to improve city services for residents.

He expressed optimism about the outcomes of the workshop in developing joint projects, increasing trade between the two countries, and leveraging all capabilities for urban development and prosperity.

Al-Hogail also attended roundtable meetings between Saudi and Turkish representatives to review key investment opportunities and projects in the real estate sector. He emphasized the importance of deepening partnerships with the Turkish side through joint cooperation with contractors, developers, and investors in the construction sector. He highlighted that the Ministry is working with around 200 real estate developers to develop projects in Saudi Arabia.

It is noteworthy that the Minister visited Turkey last July, sponsoring the Saudi-Turkish Business Forum. He also witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements between Saudi and Turkish companies in real estate development, construction, engineering consultations, and various other investment sectors.
