Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause reveals property, personal and reality TV secrets

Selling Sunset star and Hollywood real estate agent Chrishell Stause has revealed her thoughts on Australia’s property market, investing, her dream Aussie home and what fans of Selling Sunset don’t get to see behind the scenes.

The reality TV, actor and real estate agent calls Australia her second home.

Along with her Aussie partner and music icon G-Flip, the couple frequent their Australian getaway in Melbourne where G-Flip grew up.

“When we go to Melbourne it’s all family,” Ms Stause said.

In Sydney, Ms Stause said the couple stay in hotels but revealed she had looked into Sydney’s harbour front homes.

“I’ve looked into your harbour prices because it does look like such a charming place to have a house, but it is very expensive and the prices are not charming.”

“If we are talking about a dream, shoot for the stars property it absolutely would be beachfront … you guys have the best beaches in the world.”

Unlike many real estate experts, she said investing in real estate wasn’t for her.

“I’m not a big real estate investor … I get stressed about the idea of being someone’s landlord,” she said.

“Even dealing with clients sometimes requires a lot of hand holding … I couldn’t pass it off to someone else … it would be hard for me … it’s just not for me.

“I’m probably the only person in real estate who would say that … but it’s a bleak situation, maybe when we are back up on the upswing.”

Through being a real estate agent and personality on Selling Sunset, Ms Stause revealed she’d seen “a lot of crazy things,” in different homes.

“One was an entire hidden movie viewing / party room and you had to lift a samurai sword and the whole wall moved and there was a whole other wing and party room to the house.”

She revealed there was a lot that fans of the show didn’t get to see.

“There’s a lot that viewers don’t get to see on Selling Sunset … I wish that viewers could see more, a lot of times context is left out, for better or for worse” she said.

“One funny thing is that a lot of the time we are working at the desk, people say ‘how are you in your heels all day’, well sometimes we are not. If we know you can’t see it we slip them off under the desk, so sometimes we are filming in slippers.”

Ms Strause is currently promoting the Uber x Australian Red Cross Clothes Drive that is taking place on Saturday, which she has a personal connection to.

“Growing up the red cross helped me as a kid, to have school supplies and things that my family couldn’t afford,” she said. “I’ve been someone that’s benefited from it (the Red Cross) … to be successful in a way and have a platform and use it to get people to give back to a program that helped me is a really big full circle moment and I’m really grateful to be a part of.”

The promotion was shot inside her LA home, giving fans a glimpse into where and how she lives.

“There actually wasn’t a closet in my home when I bought it and that was something that I added,” she said.

She is donating some of her own glamorous looks to Aussie Red Cross boutiques across the country.

Aussies can book a free Uber Package on Saturday 19 October in participating cities between 10am-4pm to have their donations picked up and delivered to Red Cross.
