Vail real estate broker Tye Stockton, 61, was arrested on Dec. 27 and is accused of stalking — emotional distress, a class-5 felony.
Stockton is accused of placing an air tag tracking device in the vehicle of the alleged victim, according to arrest records.
Stockton, who lives in Vail, also faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence in the Dec. 27 incident, according to the Vail Police Department. He was booked at the Eagle County Detention Facility on Dec. 27.
Stockton had an advisement hearing, posted a $2,500 bond and was released on Dec. 28; he has a court appearance scheduled for Jan. 30 at 11 a.m.
According to the Colorado criminal code, stalking is an extraordinary risk crime that is subject to the modified presumptive sentencing range of one to four years of imprisonment and a fine ranging from $1,000 to $100,000, with mandatory parole of two years.

Stockton, 61, has brokered some of the Vail area’s largest real estate deals, including representing the buyer in the Aug. 2020 sale of 99 and 100 Vail Road for $57,250,000 — a new record for the Vail market.
Stockton’s real estate sales totaled more than $144 million in 2022.
