Report: Agent of Barcelona target inquires about property in local area

In an exciting development for FC Barcelona, the club’s top target, Nico Williams, has reportedly started looking for a house in Castelldefels.

According to Castelldefels Noticias, this move could signal that Williams is inching closer to joining the Catalan giants.

The player’s agent has already contacted a local real estate agency to explore property options, suggesting that Nico is preparing for a potential move to Barcelona.

This news comes amid reports that Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, has reached out to Williams, making strides towards securing the young talent for the club.

Athletic Club continue to play hardball

It must be noted that the hefty €58 million release clause attached to Nico’s contract poses a significant challenge for Barcelona.

However, despite this financial hurdle, Barcelona and Nico have agreed on personal terms, indicating strong mutual interest. The main obstacle remains the negotiations with Athletic Club, which are still ongoing.

At the same time, Barcelona face stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain and other top European clubs, all keen on signing the talented winger. While Barcelona cannot match the financial might of PSG, they are employing a strategic approach to win over Nico.

What have some leverage

A key part of Barcelona’s strategy hinges on the player’s existing relationships with current Barcelona stars like Lamine Yamal, Pedri, and Alejandro Balde.

The club hopes that these friendships will play a crucial role in persuading Nico to choose Barcelona over other suitors.

On the sporting front, Barcelona are in a strong position to offer him a significant role in the team. The left-winger position is currently vacant, and Barcelona can guarantee him a starting spot, a promise that could be very appealing to the young player.

This assurance of regular playing time is something that Barcelona believe will sway Williams in their favour.

For now, all signs point to Nivo leaning towards a move to Barcelona. However, the final hurdle remains the ongoing negotiations with Athletic Club.

These discussions will ultimately determine whether he will don the Barcelona jersey next season.

As the transfer saga unfolds, it is clear that Barcelona are doing everything in their power to sign Nico. The club’s efforts to secure his signature, combined with the player’s apparent interest, provide hope that a deal can be reached soon.
