PwC’s Deals team focuses on helping organisations execute successful deals and create value through mergers, acquisitions, disposals and restructuring. Below is a selection of transactions the team has been involved in over the past year.

1. PwC Deals supports Norfund on its investment into Nafasi Water Technologies

Norfund has completed a minority equity investment in Nafasi Water Technologies, alongside E Squared Investments, to strengthen water security across South Africa and accelerate growth in critical water infrastructure and reuse solutions – reinforcing the role of innovative solutions in addressing regional water scarcity. PwC provided financial and tax due diligence on this important transaction. Read more

2. PwC Deals team advises Woolworths in acquiring in2food Holdings

The PwC Deals team has successfully supported Woolworths Holdings Limited in its acquisition of in2food Holdings. The team provided transaction advisory services throughout the process. In addition to SPA and tax structuring advice, the team delivered comprehensive due diligence support across the financial, tax, IT, human capital, operational, and commercial aspects of the transaction. 3. PwC Deals supports West African renewable energy transaction

PwC South Africa supported British International Investment with financial due diligence services on its $15 million mezzanine debt funding into Starsight Energy Africa Group. Read more

4. PwC works on AIIM’s Port Elizabeth Cold Storage transaction

PwC South Africa’s Deals team has supported African Infrastructure Investment Managers’ acquisition of a 70% stake in Port Elizabeth Cold Storage via its temperature-controlled logistics platform, Commercial Cold Holdings. Read more

5. PwC advises on creation of renewable energy platform

PwC’s South Africa Deals team has supported the African Infrastructure Investment Managers-managed IDEAS Fund in establishing Anthem – a platform that is a leader in addressing South Africa’s renewable energy transition through 24 wind and solar sites comprising over 2GW of capacity and 11GW of greenfield pipeline. Together with its founding investors, Anthem is driving inclusive infrastructure investment across Africa. Read more
