White Gold Corp (TSX-V:WGO) is receiving support for the ongoing resource expansion and economic evaluation on its namesake project in west-central Yukon, Canada, with the appointment of technical advisor Hans Smit.
Smit is a professional geologist with over 40 years of experience in all aspects of the mineral industry. He is one of the founders of Orla Mining (TSX:OLA) and guided the evaluation of the Camino Rojo oxide gold project in Mexico.
CEO David D’Onofrio says Smit is an “ideal addition” to the White Gold team as the company advances the White Gold Project through its maiden preliminary economic assessment and beyond.
Smit says he looks forward to working with the team as they evaluate the economic, environmental, and social aspects related to potential development of the current resource and exploration.
“In my experience in the mineral exploration industry, it is clear that good projects combined with good people is the key to success,” he says.
What else has happened…
In late April 2026, White Gold also appointed Donovan Pollitt as President and Director to lead the delivery of several near-term milestones including executing an exploration program for this year.
Pollitt, who joined the company as a strategic advisor in February 2026, will assume this expanded executive role as White Gold endeavours to advance the White Gold Project.
Recently, White Gold entered into an arrangement agreement with its wholly owned subsidiary W2 Critical Minerals for a spin-out. As previously reported, the agreement will accompany the transfer of its portfolio of copper, molybdenum, tungsten and critical mineral properties in Yukon.
W2 Critical Minerals will become a dedicated, standalone vehicle and spin out common shares.
White Gold will focus on advancing its White Gold Project, which hosts four near-surface gold deposits that host an estimated 1.73 million ounces of gold in indicated resources and 1.26 million ounces of gold in inferred resources.
