Dubai: Gold prices extended their gains on Monday, rising more than 2 percent as the precious metal recorded a third consecutive session of increases.
Spot gold climbed 2.5 percent to $4,322.87 per ounce by 03:12 GMT, reaching its highest level since 9 June.
U.S. gold futures for August delivery also rose by 2.5 percent, reaching $4,344.80.
Broad gains across precious metals
Other precious metals followed the upward trend. Spot silver rose 3.6 percent to $70.39 per ounce, while platinum gained 3.3 percent to $1,773.70. Palladium also increased by 3.3 percent to $1,324.75.
The gains reflect continued strength across the precious metals market at the start of the week.
