Dublin Man Seriously Injured In Trail Bike Crash On Private Property

A Dublin man suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries after losing control of a trail bike on private property Saturday evening, officials said.

DUBLIN, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A Dublin man was hospitalized Saturday evening after crashing a trail bike while riding on private property, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at about 7 p.m. A New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officer responded along with the Dublin Fire Department, a Peterborough Fire and Rescue ambulance, and New Hampshire State Police.

Investigators determined that John Giffin, 32, of Dublin, was riding the off-highway motorcycle when his foot slipped off the foot peg, causing him to lose control and crash.

Giffin suffered serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening. He was taken by Peterborough Fire and Rescue to Monadnock Community Hospital for treatment.

Officials said the preliminary investigation indicates improper use of the equipment was the primary factor in the crash.

Fish and Game is reminding riders of off-highway recreational vehicles to wear appropriate safety gear, stay within their skill level, and remain alert to changing terrain and other hazards while operating.
