Gold prices in the local market fell on Thursday, according to the General Syndicate of Owners of Jewelry and Goldsmith Shops.
According to the morning pricing, the selling price of 21-karat gold decreased by 70 piastres to reach 84.50 JOD per gram, while its buying price dropped to 80.30 JOD.
The selling price for 24-karat gold also decreased by 80 piastres to reach 97.10 JOD per gram, with the buying price dropping to 92.90 JOD.
Additionally, the selling price of 18-karat gold declined by 70 piastres to 74.40 JOD per gram, while its buying price stood at 68.30 JOD.
Globally, gold prices fell on Thursday from a two-week high reached in the previous session as the escalating conflict in the Middle East drove up oil prices.
By 03:24 GMT, spot gold was nearly flat at $4,132.01 per ounce, after rising to $4,165.87 in the previous session—its highest level since July 7. U.S. gold futures for August delivery slipped 0.4% to $4,134.60.
