The Pittsburgh Business Times has hired Ladimir Garcia to cover residential real estate, economic development and education/workforce.
Garcia writes, “I’m originally from Beckley, West Virginia, and graduated from West Virginia University in 2023. During my time as a journalist, I’ve worked with publications like Pittsburgh City Paper, Public Source and, most recently, the Mon Valley Independent. While at WVU, I also worked at its independent student newspaper, The Daily Athenaeum
“In previous newsrooms I’ve covered the Mon Valley, Pittsburgh’s growing Latino community, politics and the arts.
“I haven’t been in the Pittsburgh region for too long, but in the few years I’ve spent here, I’ve learned to love all of its communities. From having a movie night at the Manor Theatre in Squirrel Hill to enjoying a good torta at Panaderia Jazmin in Mt. Lebanon, I’ve enjoyed getting to know the region.”
